One of the biggest areas of need during the fall and winter months are socks. Many people are surprised to hear that socks are the least-donated clothing items and yet the most in-demand for needy locals. To help alleviate this need, the Stanley County student council collected over 400 pairs of new socks during the month of October. The donated socks were donated to Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center to be disbursed to local families in the Stanley and Hughes County areas. Looking for ways to meet new people in the Pierre/Fort Pierre community? Rawlins Municipal Library is hosting a BONDING OVER BOOKS CLUB COOKIE NIGHT on Thursday, December 16th @ 6:30-7:30 pm.**MUST BE 18 years or older** Please bring a dozen sugar cookies and decorations. The Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 39 is hosting the McClure Christmas Party at the South Dakota Discovery Center on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Stanley County Middle & High School Semester Testing will be held Monday, December 20th and Tuesday, December 21st.
Mrs. Mary Steffen was chosen November Elementary Staff Member of the Month! She is devoted to her 4th and 5th grade Science and Social Studies students. She goes above and beyond to implement activities that are hands-on, project-based, and reach those higher levels of thinking. Mrs. Steffen does research and attends trainings to find the latest and greatest to benefit her students! We appreciate all that you do, Mrs. Steffen!
Members of the Stanley County FFA chapter competed in the District 6 FFA Leadership Development competitions held in St. Lawrence on November 17, 2021. The event holds contests that challenge students in the agricultural areas of leadership, speaking, marketing, sales, and public speaking. Our students competed in the following areas: Marketing Plan- Liberty Harrington, Rachel Nemec, Gabriella Pinela. Agricultural Sales- Hayden Schmautz, Sherrilynn Wise Spirit, Levi Wagner-Erno, Lane Baldwin, Kate Kramme. Ag. Broadcasting- Alexander Jones, Mario Wise Spirit. The Elementary Christmas Concert is Monday, December 13, 2021, 6:00pm in the Parkview Gymnasium. Students should dress up for this event. The call time for students is 5:45pm and the program will begin promptly at 6:00pm. The students have been singing and practicing and filling the school with cheer. Please mark your calendar for this event!

The students will have a friendly competition to see who garners the most receipts in January. After this time, the elementary and middle-high schools will continue to collect throughout the year.
