Thursday, December 12: Lindee Miller, Abby Miller, Karna Pfeffer, and Kathryn Haarstad visited Ms. Volmer’s Health Career Class. Ms. Haarstad discussed job shadowing opportunities at Avera. The visitors then taught adult and infant CPR, and the Heimlich maneuver.
Afterward, the class was divided into three groups, rotating through stations to learn Stop-the-Bleed techniques, how to perform injections using an orange, and how to insert a bone IV by drilling into chicken legs.
