Mr. Dowell's 3rd-grade class set a goal of 400 accelerated reader points. The class had to reach a total of 400 points collectively. Mr. Dowell would not shave his beard until the goal was reached. On April 17th, the beard was colored pink, (the color Mr. Dowell does not like but the students agreed to) and with an electric razor the students, (Yes, THE STUDENTS) shaved his beard. Before the beard was shaved, Mr. Dowell told the class how proud he was of them. Also, joining the fun were Mrs. Maher's 3rd-grade class and a few 5th-grade students. When his beard was gone, Mr. Dowell was heard saying, "My face feels so cold." Congratulations and great work 3rd Grade!
