Hailey Deal won the Local “Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest.” The contest is sponsored by the VFW and is designed to recognize young artists and encourage patriotism. Students in grades 9-12 were eligible to submit entries. The entries are based on the originality of concept, presentation, and patriotism. Submissions are also based on clarity of ideas, design technique, and total impact of work. For her work, Hailey was awarded $100, and her winning entry will go on to district competition. Hailey’s artwork and synopsis are pictured along with additional entries.
