kindergarten owl program

owl puppetKindergarten students had the privilege of having GF&P Wildlife Conservation Officer, Dylan Peterson, visit with their classes about owls. Mrs. Schulz and Mrs. Scott’s Kindergarten classes have been researching owls after reading the story “Owls in the Family” by Farley Mowat. Dylan taught us more about the owls around us and those we can see in South Dakota.  Students looked at the contents of an owl pellet, along with some skulls from different species. Dylan also brought an owl puppet which showed off their large eyes, sharp talons, and how they can turn their heads almost all the way around. The kids loved it!
